Bathroom Remodel Ideas

Bathroom Remodel Ideas

bathroom-remodelingSome bathroom remodels ideas are easier to put into practice than others. The Internet sets people’s creativity on fire, but the inspiration you find online, may not be always suitable and practical for your space. All the ideas that you find and try to implement, ought to be a match for the specificity of the place: location, natural or artificial light, wall structure and so on. This is why remodeling takes a bit of preparation and planning ahead. You just can’t take up work randomly.

Moreover, the photos and project details that you can view online belong to a diversity of styles from traditional to ultra modern, from sophisticated and glamorous to simple and minimalistic. If you need the bathroom remodel ideas within a lower budget, you should check the projects that do not require molding, flooring, and plumbing. The floor tiles, the pipes, and the fixtures are pretty expensive to demolish and replace, therefore, you have to decide whether you can live with the existing ones.

For the very simple bathroom remodel ideas you’ll just need vanity hardware, paint, and accessories. You can warm up space and give it a touch of your personality by playing with colors and adding very interesting materials like rattan, wood or bamboo. In case you consider wallpaper, labor costs for the installation are pretty high. If you are tight on a budget, you should either seek another remodeling idea or hang it yourself with a friend.

If you search online, you’ll be surprised to discover hundreds of possible bathroom remodel ideas to implement at home. You can make all the project adjustments required and talk to a contractor or designer to get into the technical details if required. In case you need complex remodeling with demolition and flooring, you will need professional help for plumbing, electrical work, and tile installation. DIY projects are a real challenge if you are not skilled. You could ruin the project and make it a money waste if you don’t work with a contractor.

I strongly suggest that you give some serious thought to all the possible bathroom remodel ideas, weighing the pros and the cons, if any. Moreover, openly evaluate your budget and get price estimates for the entire project so that you don’t end up in debt or incapable of finishing remodeling for lack of money. There are very helpful bathroom remodeling calculators to use and approximate the costs of the design, materials, and labor.

Whether you have a small job of bathroom repair and remodeling or a much larger home remodelling projec, more often than not you will need the services of a professional interior and or exterior painting contractor.  Lynnwood WA House Painter Chris Burton of Paint Gunners is a very well regarded highly respected residential and commercial painter in the area. He will go an extra mile in educating his customers about the whole painting process. Lynnwood Home Painting: Painting the Exterior

Picture13The colors that your house sports on its exterior surfaces tell a lot about you. They reveal a great deal about your personality, your taste and possibly even your social outlook. Home painting is the combination of Interior as well as exterior painting. While there are many aspects that you can use to differentiate your house from the rest of the surrounding; color is the least expensive and easiest thing to alter. Before deciding on the paint job you need you decide that what you want your house to be; that is attractive to eyes or just a plain yet impressive figure in the locality? The choice is entirely yours and whatever be your answer, the color will get it done for you. So let us take look at key points and tips that you need to consider while undertaking a paint job on your exterior walls.

* If you are looking for a flashy appeal, then go for sharp colors; high-toned colors for a flashy house that speak a loud from the distance.

* In case you prefer an understated elegance; light toned color is what you should look for. They give a sombre effect and the visual illusion of apparent big house rather than original size.

* If the exterior walls have a large surface area then go for a darker tint as larger surface area makes home painting looks faded.

* If in your mind some color combination is taking place then choose the matching contrast color. Extreme contrast subdues the effect.

* While deciding upon color samples use natural light for the study but not direct sunlight.

* If possible use light and pastel color to blend the architecture of house with natural surrounding. Changing sun rays and the shape of the house lends a regal texture to the exterior of the house at the different time of the day.

* Mid-tone add visual depth and warmth to your house exterior. Choose a contrasting color with the main body paint.

* Deep color are known for the light absorbing power and creating illusions of the less volume than original yet provide substance to the exterior. Before using deep color test them on actual surface under different light shades

* Neutral color scheme is the most customizable method to paint the exterior. You can always opt for this method as there is always a chance that you might not like the final output so with the neutral combination you can, later on, change the unpleasant wall. Since neutral paints absorbs most of the colors. Also, this provides a cover to some necessary yet not a visual treat to eyes such as shutter door, roof sewage pipe etc.

* Do not buy all the paint at once. Just get small quantities of your possible choices and apply on a smaller region of the wall. This will give you a nice feedback on how should you go about it.

This apart it is always advisable to take a look around to judge about the color pattern that dominates the entire area. It is a wise choice to match the color tone of your neighbor if you are living in the colony. In addition, if you still have a doubt, it is always better to consult a professional who can guide as per your specific needs.

House Painting Lynnwood WA-Ingenious Ideas For Kids’ Rooms

kids roomEvery parent wants their kid’s room to be perfectly decorated, a room where their kids can spend their growing years. In addition to toys, pictures and furniture painting of a kid’s room is an essential element to be considered and can be difficult and if enough thought and proper preparations are not done.  In order to make the home painting of your kid’s space a pleasant memory you should consider the following before beginning the painting.

From birth to teenage years the needs of the child and appropriateness of its surroundings change especially in the early years. So parents have to be prepared for frequent remodeling of their kid’s room, as a rule of thumb; the younger a kid, the more is the frequency of your redecoration. A younger kid will outgrow his room extremely quickly and will require frequent change of style, background, and most importantly safety related items. All this has financial implications because frequent remodeling can cost a lot of expense.

Fortunately, there is an answer. It is called decorative painting. It is a type of home painting in which room decoration can quickly be changed when needed and is quite attractive for the kids. You can pick a design or a theme according to your taste of decor, house painting design, and color.  The design can be picked, remembering that you want to change the décor as the kid grows or to go with a color scheme that will be appropriate for several years. The chosen decor can be changed easily and at less cost.

The following care should be taken when selecting colors for your kids’ room:

* Colors are known to have an emotional impact on human beings. It is important to use colors which do not have a too strong an impact on kids i.e. the colors must not be too dull or too brilliant. As in home painting, rooms with lighter colors tend to look larger, cleaner, and more comforting instead of spaces with dark colors that make spaces look warm and unpleasant. Mildly bright colors and patterns that many Children’s magazines or child psychologists recommend for enhancing comfort, security, and learning should be used.

* There are no hard and fast rules for deciding the color pattern of a kid’s room. The only factor to consider would be to make sure that the kids are as comfy as possible. Most popular color design for a lady’s space are pink based and blue based for kids.

* When utilizing Decorative house painting, styles associating with Cartoon or children movies characters can be used. Styles connected to seasons are likewise an incredibly popular choice. Certain walls can be designated as a center of attraction with full bodied cartoons painted on them. use of graphics on these walls and selection of the wall itself are important points to consider.

* Children have the well-known tendency of licking or sucking on things, walls seem to be an excellent alternative for these young minds to feed their tongues upon. Therefore it is important to be careful in choosing child-friendly non-toxic colors and make sure they are free of lead and other toxins.

Many other kinds of ornamental house painting ideas could include the use of textured stencils readily available in packages at the local hardware store to embellish the walls of kid’s room. Utilizing texture from things like a sponge you can make your own indigenous design.

Creating a room for your children that is a nurturing cradle of security, well-being and fun can be one of the most joyful experiences of parenthood if done properly.

Exterior House Painting Lynnwood WA

Exterior House Painting Basics for Exterior House Painting Lynnwood WA

Picture5Curb appeal is big business when it comes to the property market. Homeowners spend thousands on sprucing up their properties, all in an effort to increase the overall attractiveness of their homes. Whether you are jazzing up your home or enticing prospective buyers, when it comes to first impressions, the look and color of a simple, fresh paint job can do absolute wonders.

How much it costs to visually update your property might well be the first question on your mind. But it’s a rather open ended question: considering first the cost of painting, then the cost of painting you can afford, what is a reasonable estimate for your property, should you do it yourself or hire a painting contractor, how much will the painter charge, how much SHOULD the painter charge, how do you choose a trustworthy painter… The questions can continue even further. And the answers to these questions can be far and wide. Make no mistake, you WILL be bamboozled if you are not prepared!

Though a comprehensive painting job to-do list is simply too much at this stage, we can create a list of guidelines which you can follow that will help put you on the right track for all your exterior house painting requirements.

• Firstly, how big is your house? For obvious reasons, size is a big factor in the cost and estimated completion time. The larger the overall surface area, the higher the potential cost.

• What kind of surface will you be painting on? An exterior wall made out of wood will be very different to paint on compared to an exterior wall made out of solid brick, and will influence the cost of the job.

• The architecture of the house is a factor to consider. Steep roofs, angled walls, roof overhangs/eaves, and multi-story buildings require more specialised skills and equipment from the painter and will affect the pricing estimate of the job.

• Where your house is located can often significantly influence the cost of a paint job. Painters can and will charge more for a house located in a more affluent, upper-class area than middle-class suburbia.

• When you want to paint, ie. The time of the year can also affect the pricing of a potential paint job. Good weather painting periods will cost the homeowner more as there is a higher demand for the painter’s services at this point in time.

• Depending on your surroundings and environment, you may need specialised paint to suit the conditions around your home. Specialised paint will generally incur a higher cost than regular paint.

• Houses with many windows or doors that need to be carefully painted around will also affect that cost, as these areas require more time and skill to paint around compare to plain walls.

Be sure to obtain as many quotes as possible from different painting contractors before coming to a decision. Ask for references of nearby homes that they have worked on; if they have are professional and have confidence in their work, they shouldn’t have a problem with this. Have a drive by, and look at the property in question, so you can personally inspect their workmanship. Hopefully this will help give you the peace of mind to finally decide on how and who to paint your home.

House Painting Lynnwood WA: Paint Your Room in Nine Easy Steps

May 26, 2016 By admin Leave a Comment

Nine Easy Steps to Paint Your Room

The idea of painting a room by yourself  can often seem to be a frightening proposition. However, with so much DIY information available on the internet and with a little bit of action and encouragement it can become a fun family  activity.  We have made it even easier by putting together five simple steps actions you can follow to do a bang up painting job of your room.

The appropriate sequence of actions is  essential for a fast and rejuvenating  transformation of a room. It is best to start with the ceiling before painting the walls.

Action Step 1- Prep the room.

Move furniture from the room. Turn off the circuit breaker for the room, remove outlet covers, and cover outlets with tape. Place canvas drop cloths on the floor– they’re less slippery than plastic.

Action Step 2– Clean Ceiling and Walls

Remove dust, dirt, and grease areas (which can ruin a smooth surface) with water, a little mild dish washing detergent, and a cellulose sponge. Rinse ceiling and walls with clean water to get rid of the soap residue.

Action Step 3–Use painter’s tape to protect other or trim edges. Use a putty knife to press tape gently into corners.

Action Step 4–Priming

Primer seals the wall and creates an even base for paint. You don’t need this step if you use a paint-primer combination.

Action Step 5: Mixing of Paint:

If using multiple gallons of paint of the same color, mix all of them together in a bucket to avoid slight variations in color in each.

Action Step 6 — Cut in Around Edges

Starting at the corner of the room, utilize a 2.5-inch or two-inch trim brush to “cut in,” using a three-inch strip of coating along the perimeter where the wall and the ceiling meet.Cut in a section at a time, alternating between cutting in and painting the ceiling to maintain a damp edge and avoid a visible line in between the cut-in area and the rest of the ceiling.

Action Step 7- Rolling the Ceiling

Before you start painting the ceiling, get rid of excess paint on the roller by gradually rolling it back and forth over the ridges of the paint tray.

Start painting near the corner of the room. Blend the coat of paint into the previously painted ceiling line. Paint throughout the width of the ceiling, instead of the length. To prevent straining your neck and back make sure to be rolling in a smooth motion across your body, instead of along your body, to prevent straining your neck and back.

Action Step 8– Painting the Walls

Once your ceiling is dry, go back to the area where you started painting. Use a trim brush to carefully cut in along the wall-ceiling line. Extend out two to three inches from doors, windows, and moldings. Utilize a roller to fill in the field once you’ve cut in around an entire wall area.

For effectiveness, begin in the corner of a wall and roll on a three-by-three-foot W pattern, then fill it in without raising the roller. Continue in sections till you’re done. Paint one wall at a time.

Action Step 9– Painting the Trim

When the walls have thoroughly dried, use a painter’s blue tape by applying it  where the trim and the wall meet. Use a 2″ angled brush to paint the moldings, baseboard and the frames of door and window. Start painting your trim by painting from the tops of the doors and windows and then work your way down. This technique will help you remove any runs as you go down.

More than anything making the kitchen area reflect your own taste and personality should be at the top of the list. Don’t be so worried with the current trends but focus on what makes you feel great. The kitchen should be comfy and practical and a place to display your cooking abilities (or lack of !) to friends and family. Make the effort to find the kind of design or accent pieces that fit your very own specific taste. If you are choosing the country look or the shabby chic appearance, include lots of baskets to put dry flowers, plants or fresh cut flowers in. Likewise load your basket up with fruit for a walk by treat. Going modern or contemporary means a great deal of stainless steel, sleek racks and decoration’s with clean lines.

Keep your kitchen cabinets fresh and flowing with the decor of your kitchen. Do not ignore painting. Painting is an easy, economical modification or strip and varnish to match your cooking area’s interior. Basic modifications like changing the cabinet knobs or handles makes a noticeable difference. Changing just the front of the cabinets with interior recessed lighting really gives a whole new appearance. Consider replacing your appliances as well that are accent matched with surroundings.  Another interesting idea is a hanging rack from the ceiling for pots and pans. It gives a new ambiance while saving space at the same time. Adding B board provides the kitchen area a classic look and feel. If you are still not completely pleased with the general look, change the flooring! Go from vinyl to wood, for warm ambiance or opt for stone for the cozy old world feel. Your flooring should always reflect the theme of your kitchen.

If the idea of cooking outside appeals to you, think about an outdoor cooking area or kitchen. A beautifully designed outside kitchen area can be an added reward for your house with hours of fun for family and pals. No more indoor messes! The animals and kids can have a blast being loud! If you require assistance with the design ideas of your outdoor kitchen area, you can checkout out remodeling publications or specific home improvement stores like Home Depot and Lowes. If your budget is limited, start out with just purchasing your grill. Then when your budget allows, add other components to bring your outdoor kitchen space to life.  There are plenty of inexpensive things to do such as including flowers to your outdoor location, hanging lights to produce the restaurant appearance or adding outside furnishings that blends in with the theme of your outdoor kitchen space. Just do as your budget allows, and in the meantime, enjoy nature’s beauty and sounds.

As mentioned earlier in this post do not ignore the painting the kitchen area as well as cabinets. For tips read the related blog post.
